Never in my life would I have thought that American Culture, a history-based class, would be one of the most life-changing courses I'd take at the University of Michigan. This paper describes and analyzes a photograph by Dorothea Lange during the Chinese Internment. Whether you know about Dorothea Lange, the Chinese Internment, or American Culture itself, this review provides an insight into the country we live in as well as its past and even its future. After all, the future is all about you.

The reason I fell in love with English was poetry. A seventh grade language class introduced me to the beautiful expression of poetry and I've been making my attempt at it ever since. I'm no Walt Whitman, but I enjoy it and I think it helps get a message across in the genuine and emotional style that I love so much. This specific poem was inspired by my learning of an event that happened here at the University of Michigan. We are all affected by what happens around us; so take the time to read this and learn how it changes what you know about you.

We writers, as we work our way deeper into our craft, learn to drop more and more personal clues. Like burglars who secretly wish to be caught, we leave our fingerprints on broken locks, our voiceprints in bugged rooms, our footprints in the wet concrete.
